​CVORI - OPERATOR RISK INDICATOR:
The RSA has implemented a risk rating system for heavy commercial vehicle operators.
 The risk rating system, which is called CVORI (Commercial Vehicle Operator Risk Indicator) aims to improve the safety of heavy commercial vehicles on our roads, making journeys safer for all.
This Risk indicator takes into consideration & complies results based on the following:
RSA ROADSIDE CHECKS
RSA PREMISES INSPECTIONS
CVRT TEST RESULTS
VOLUNTARY TEST RESULTS

​DRIVER BEHAVIOUR & COMPLIANCE
​

LICENCES & TRAINING :
  • All of our drivers have full clean D licences
  • All drivers hold an up to date CPC (Certifcate of Professional Competence) and update these skills annually.
  • Our Team often attend the courses & seminars ran by RSA and An Garda Siochana
  • We regularly provide in house training by a registered trainer.​
C-Track Safe Driving & Tracking Systems:
  • We operate a computerised tracking system which tracks our buses every minute of the day.  
  • This way we can ensure that we can supply our customers with the correct pick up times & locations.  
  • We can also provide accurate predictions on arrival/ departure times.
  • With this system we operate a Drive Right System where our drivers' driving habits are tracked...this results in our drivers having the best driving practices & training. 
The trackers report on driver behaviour such as:​
  • Speed Offences
  • Harsh Braking
  • Harsh Acceleration 
On Board & Dash Cameras:
  • For the protection of our drivers and passengers on board we have internal & external Dash Cam's.
  • The information on these cameras are saved as per Data Protections Guidelines
Tacho Cards:
  • All Driver Tacho cards are downloaded every 3 weeks and processed to ensure we are compliant with driver hours & legislation
  • All vehcile tachographs are downloaded every 90 days in compliance with RSA Standards

The Importance of Road Safety @ Kierans Bus Hire 

We at Kierans Bus Hire are exceptionally proud of our fleet & pride ourselves on our vehicle maintenance and adherence to Road Safety.

It's not just a simple case of driving a bus, hours of checks, tests and maintenance are undertaken each year.

VEHICLE SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

All of Our Vehicles comply with the following:
  • Insurance
  • Tax
  • Current Annual CVRT
  • Current PSV (3 years)
  • Fully fitted seatbelts on each vehicle
BUS & PSV DRIVER WALK-AROUND CHECKS:
Each day, any bus being taken from base, must undergo a 15 minute walkaround check by the driver.
The driver performs the following checks:
  • In Cab
  • External
  • Windows
  • Lights, Indicators & Reflectors
  • Mirrors
  • Vehicle Access
Any defects must be reported to the Transport Manager and amended before the vehicle takes to the road.
12 WEEKLY PSV INSPECTION:
Every 12 weeks a registered mechanic must inspect our buses to a RSA Standard using a RSA Checklists.
Any defects must be reported to the Transport Manager.​
VEHICLE SERVICING :
At every 20,000 km, our vehicles undergo a full service.
Tyres are changed every 60,000 km
